Seek Joy
The other day I wrote about loneliness and how it is a feeling that manifests when we are unable to be vulnerable, fully open, and seen by those around us. Loneliness is a terrible feeling. We feel lost and alone regardless of how many people may be around us in a moment. However, the opposite of loneliness is Joy. Joy is the feeling that occurs when we can fully show up and share our success, and even struggles, without feeling that they will be compared to.
Joy and the subsequent feeling that we experience is a sign that we are surrounded by authentic, aligned people. Even when experiencing hardships or struggles we can still find joy because of the people we are with on the journey. They truly want you to succeed and be successful. There is no judgment, there is no shame.
I’ve been surrounded by a roomful of strangers and felt joy because they genuinely saw my success and my light. I felt supported to do the impossible and crazy. I was able to genuinely show up and express myself. I was able to be vulnerable, share the highs and the lows. Being able to express that vulnerability gives a feeling of happiness. That is joy. That expression is the fullest expression of our humanity.
When we can fully express ourselves and show up we can find joy. Not just in the highs but in the lows, in the whole journey. When we fully express ourselves we find those who truly support us, we don’t always need to be in their physical presence, we can find joy and an elevated life. Seek joy in all that we do and watch the world change in front of your eyes.
