Stop Being Scared of Success

Stop Being Scared of Success.

Instead of approaching an opportunity with the thought, “what if I failed,” what if you approached it that you succeed and were apart of something bigger than yourself. I think we are scared of success. In a previous post I talked about the need for us to take a leap. That we need to stop waiting for the perfect moment and just go. But I also think we need to believe in ourselves a little more. We need to stop letting the fear of failure stop us from finding our true potential.

We are scared of our own success. Marianne Willaimson said that our “greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, it is that we are powerful beyond measure.” We are scared of facing the mirror and figuring out who we are. We are scared of what we are capable of. So we hide behind fear of failure. We chalk things up to nerves and stress. The reality is that we have not pushed ourselves to what we are capable of.

We get scared of being successful so we don’t blossom into what we actually want to be. We stump our brain in the first place by saying that we will fail before we even give it a shot. We are scared of growing bigger than what those around us tell us to be. We are meant to be more than just the thoughts and opinions of those around us. We are meant to be successful, powerful, strong, ambitious. The opinions of others are just that. They are opinions. They aren’t the truth about what you are about or what you are capable of. They might nudge you in the right direction or show you something that you don’t want to be. But they are not you. They aren’t facts.

The only one who knows that fact about you is well YOU. You know what you are capable of. So stop approaching the situation thinking about what if I fail. Instead approach it as an opportunity to do and create the world and life you always were called for. We are each called to do something great. We all have a great calling. We are all capable of something powerful beyond measure. Don’t let the fear of actually doing it stop you from even trying. Stop being scared of success. You are far more capable than you think.
